International call for PhD candidates for educational research (2008)
Under the Ciência2008 government initiative funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), the Research Centre for Didactics and Technology in Teacher Education (CIDTFF), of the University of Aveiro (Portugal), wishes to recruit 3 doctors (PhD), each one for 3 different positions, described in this “Job Description” (refª C2008-UA/CIDTFF/01).
Applications deadline: 30th September, 2008
To apply, please send:(a) presentation letter explicitly stating the position the application refers to – A, B or C, (b) CV with photo, (c) 2 reference letters; and (d) a work plan within the requirements of the job description.
It is also required that candidates have had research experience and at least one publication in a refereed International Journal based on research established and developed after the PhD (published or accepted for publication).
All the documentation must be written in English and all the references in the CV must be complete.
The candidates that fulfil the minimum requirements will be notified by e-mail for an interview.
Applications must be sent to cidtff_ciencia2007@dte.ua.pt, no later than September 30th, 2008.
When applying to these positions make sure you mention “C2008-UA/CIDTFF” followed by the letter that identifies the position (or positions) you are applying to, in the message subject.
The decision of granting a position depends on the final approval of FCT.

About me
In real life (RL) my name is Teresa Bettencourt. I’m a PhD teacher at University of Aveiro, in the Department of Didactics and Educational Technology (DTE). I’m also the assistent secretary of the Research Centre for Didactics and Technology in Teacher Education (CIDTFF). My research concerns are related to the educational potential of ICT on initial teacher training. I’m quite an old in this field! I started with DOS a long time ago! Now my interests converge to Second Life, as an enriched virtual world and environment that can enhance our actual teaching and learning models!
